Davin Healthcare Software Solutions is a nurse-founded and employee-owned healthcare workforce technology company headquartered in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The DAVIN software was developed in partnership with Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions, a healthcare staffing and managed service provider organization seeking to streamline its credentialing, staffing, and vendor management processes.
Owner and President David Theobald, MS, RN, CSP brought the DAVIN software to the healthcare education field as a way of streamlining the clinical placement process to enhance workforce development, and ultimately reduce the reliance on supplemental staffing in healthcare facilities.
David volunteers on the advisory board of multiple nursing education programs in order to ensure that DAVIN is continually meeting and exceeding the challenges of the healthcare field.

David Theobald MS, RN, CSP
President and CEO
David is a nurse entrepreneur with over 20 years of healthcare experience. As the CEO of Davin Healthcare, he combines his experience in patient care with the growing needs and demands of today's healthcare challenges to find creative, clinical, and technology-based solutions for facilities of all sizes and functions across the United States.
To advance his nursing knowledge, David earned his Master’s in Nursing Education at Empire State College. David is currently perusing his DNP-ENL at Baylor University. An advocate for advancing nursing education, he proudly serves on several committees including the Empire State College Advisory Board and the Baldwin Nursing Program Advisory Group. David is a board member for the Foundation of NYS Nurses, Inc., along with being an advisory council member for the National League for Nursing. David is a dedicated family man who works alongside his wife Susan. He has four grown children and two golden retrievers that keep him very active with hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
Tom Kernan J.D., SPHR
Vice President and General Counsel
A seasoned business attorney and healthcare staffing executive, Tom oversees the company’s legal affairs and collaborates with the company’s CEO on strategic planning initiatives including establishing company policies, priorities, and business development objectives. As general counsel, Tom’s areas of oversight and responsibility include the review, negotiation, and drafting of contracts; the implementation of best practices to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal employment, human resources, privacy, and healthcare laws and regulations; and the safeguarding of company intellectual property. Tom has a strong background in human resources and earned his SPHR certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2020.
Tom previously served as Chairman of the Health Care Section Council of the American Staffing Association (ASA) and has served as volunteer on the Section Council for four years. ASA is the professional trade association of the $161-billion U.S. staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry. Tom is also a member of the Health Law, Corporate Counsel and Labor and Employment Law sections of the New York State Bar Association. Prior to joining Davin Healthcare, Tom was engaged full-time in the private practice of law for ten years, representing business and individual clients in a wide array of transactional and litigated matters and earning an AV® Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Before entering private practice, Tom completed a two-year clerkship on the Central Legal Research and Writing Staff of the Court of Appeals, New York State’s highest appellate court. Tom received his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University in 2003 and his Bachelor of Arts from Bard College in 2000, majoring in Psychology. Tom also holds a Certificate in Business Management from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary. Tom resides in Malta, New York, with his wife, Renee, and two school-aged sons.
Mike Zinni
Director of Software Development
Mike spent the first twenty years of his career working in large software teams for fortune 100 corporations developing mission-critical software for manufacturing and robotics. He built and programmed the automated equipment that manufactured nuclear cores in Seawolf-class submarines; steel mill automation that rolled red-hot steel; and a 100% automated aircraft engine factory.
In 1999, he left the corporate world, founded his own software company, and began developing custom desktop software and web-based applications for a wide variety of local, national and international clients. His work had him advising on highly-classified projects.
Mike joined Davin Healthcare Software Solutions in August of 2015 after several years working as their programming contractor. Through his 43 years of software development experience, he participated in the fast-paced, ever-changing technological environment.
Neetigya Saxena
Applied Computer Science / Software Development Programmer
Neetigya graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from North Maharashtra University. After graduating, he took a job with a company that specialized in infrastructure development. Neetigya applied his expertise to work on a variety of embedded systems and was involved in writing code for toll highway equipment such as road barriers, boom gates, and highway traffic messaging system. His work earned him the "Emerging Talent Award" for successfully integrating the Frequency Identification System. During his tenure, the company also awarded Neetigya the "O&M Excellence Award in the field of honesty and upholding the values of the company."
Neetigya came to the United States in 2015 to seek his Master's degree in Computer Science. While attending the University at Albany, Neetigya would regularly commute upwards to three hours so he could intern at Davin Healthcare Software Solutions and Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions. Upon his graduation in 2016, Davin Healthcare Software Solutions transitioned Neetigya to a full-time position where he's continued to strengthen the DAVIN software. Neetigya brings his curiosity, innovation, and almost ten years of experience in programming and application development to the Davin Healthcare Software Solutions and Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions team.
Vasuki Chellappan
Applied Computer Science / Software Development Programmer
Vasuki graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Anna University. Applying her skills, she worked in the textile industry, where she focused on Java application development.
In 2016, Vasuki became an ISTQB certified Software Tester. Soon after, she joined Davin Healthcare Software Solutions and Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions where she has spearheaded integration projects. After their completion, Vasuki transitioned to working with universities to adapt the software for use with clinical programs.
Vasuki is an avid learner and brings her interest in problem-solving and finding better solutions as a software developer to the Davin Healthcare Software Solutions and Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions team. Vasuki is currently pursuing MBA at UAlbany.
Enrico Patarini
Software Development Programmer / Applied Computer Science
Enrico joined Davin Healthcare Software Solutions in May 2017 as an intern while studying at Skidmore College. In 2018, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with concentrations in Complexity Theory, Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
His work on ancillary projects at Davin Healthcare Software Solutions earned him a full-time position upon graduation. During this period he transitioned to larger, more consequential projects in the system. He brought his expertise to improving the system’s reporting capabilities and creating a native surveying capability for the system.
Recently, he has begun to look for ways to leverage the machine learning and AI techniques he studied at Skidmore College to further improve the power of the software solutions.
Craig Lange
Regional Client Relationship Manager
After graduating from SUNY Geneseo in 2011 with Bachelor of Science in Business, Craig moved to New York City to start his career.
Craig learned the fundamentals of sales while working for an array of companies in the software and healthcare industries. Craig returned to upstate New York in 2020 and started with Davin in November as a Software Sales Specialist.
Craig loves working with people and enjoys building meaningful relationships with his clients.
Laurie Van Valkenburg, CHP
Innovation Project Manager
Laurie brings passion, experience, an eye for detail, and her caring spirit to everything that she does. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an additional concentration in Project Management. In addition, she completed the Duke Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and became a Certified Healthcare Staffing Professional through the American Staffing Association. Before joining the Davin Team, she spent 20 years working within the medical community and eight years as a medical practice administrator.
Since joining Davin Healthcare in 2016, Laurie has held multiple positions throughout the Davin organization. She started in the Credentialing Department, where she moved into the team lead position. She transitioned to the Quality Assurance Team and worked closely to ensure successful Joint Commission Audits. With her work on Project Software Integration, she aided the team that brought many recent advancements to the Davin Software to market.
She is passionate about innovation and believes in bringing software that enhances the end-user experience for both our staffing and education clients. Her role as Innovation Project Manager allows her to focus more heavily on aiding the software developers in bringing new features to the Davin Software that will enhance the end user's experience.
Bonnie Kasperak
Video Producer and Software Support
Bonnie graduated from Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts in 2006, after completing its Video Production program. Upon completion, she took a position at a Baltimore production company where she honed her skills in videography, audio recording, video editing, and animation. While there, she worked on internationally award-winning productions.
8 years ago, Bonnie shifted her career path to Software Support and Testing to aid a healthcare company in the implementation of a new electronic medical record software program. She oversaw training and the transition of the workforce into the digital age.
With her unique background in both healthcare technology and 15 years of professional video production experience, she has made a welcome addition to the Davin Healthcare Software Solutions team. Since joining in 2017, she has been able to combine her love of both the computer science and marketing/video fields with her role at Davin Healthcare Software Solutions expanding to formally including marketing and continued assistance with the help desk.
Dylan LaFave
Customer and Software Support Specialist
Dylan describes himself as a “student for forever” with a love for learning that drives all aspects of his life. He is always willing to learn or try something new and expand his knowledge. He has a range of experience spanning from his early days working retail, banking, and sales, through college as a literary English major, and into his professional development in customer support/account management. In his eyes, everyone is your customer and every customer is unique; their needs come first.
His career development took him through many different industries before landing in the healthcare staffing world. Before joining the Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions and Davin Healthcare Software Solutions team, Dylan worked for a high-volume freight brokerage company as an account manager and customer service representative, coordinating logistics for over twenty diverse, high-profile customers. Given the unpredictability of the trucking industry, Dylan worked tirelessly to ensure that at the end of the day the customer had solutions to their problems and that they were completely satisfied.
Dylan brings this mindset with him to the healthcare technology field where he works with end users to make sure their questions or concerns are thoroughly answered in an effective and timely manner. He and the support team work internally to ensure all technology hardware is functional and secure, as well as assist end users navigate all the different software they use. Beyond end user support, Dylan and the support team work with the Davin software developers to test changes, field enhancements and triage issues. Technology is an ever-growing industry, and Dylan strives to grow along with it.
